After a thrilling T20I series between the two sides, the action moves to the fifty-over format. India will aim to complete the tour with total domination over the visitors, having already registered victories in the Test and T20I series. Eoin Morgan won the toss and elected to bowl first in a good batting wicket in Pune. Shikhar Dhawan played exceptionally and deserved a Century to his name, but he was out for a well-made 98. England were playing without their star-bowler Jofra Archer. The match started on a beautiful surface in Pune. The duo Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan opened the innings for the team. In this match, India had various Debutants like Suryakumar Yadav, Krunal Pandya, Prasidh Krishna.
“England have this way of going hard but they showed in the last World Cup, there are times when they can just sit in and be smart – you don’t win a lower-scoring World Cup than people thought without having that capability. “I just don’t think they were smart enough today, especially Kuldeep [Yadav] was really struggling so they had effectively four and a half bowlers. They had to force Virat [Kohli] to bowl Hardik Pandya but they kept losing wickets, so Kuldeep could just come on at the end and the game was already lost.
” Ind vs Eng matches had always been promising and thrillers. Virat Kohli captained the team beautifully and the way he supported K.L. Rahul was very promising. A player who had a very disasterous venture in the T20 Series against England. K.L. Rahul scored a crucial 62 for the team. Captain Kohli also came to the team rescue by scoring 56 runs, he is still not able to score a hundred for a long time. India’s bowling had a very good comeback in this match. By leaking runs to taking wickets, England’s openers gave them a solid start and they had scored 135 runs in just14 overs. Krunal Pandya made a well-deserved fifty in his debut match.
After struggling to make it into the T20 Squad of the team, Surya Kumar Yadav finally got a game in One-day Internationals. He played some crucial knocks in the T20s. This team is very strong and had a potential of winning matches. Kuldeep Yadav didn’t got a wicket and he was leaking runs. England is a good side and they are top- ranked in all formats. India were without Jasprit Bumrah. It was a good learning lesson for England as their middle and lower order performed really badly. Ind vs Eng matches are very special for every fan. Cricket is a very famous sport and many of the fans are just watching this sport because of Ind vs Eng matches.
It was not unexcepted from England. The series would be 2-1, I don’t think this team could be able to whitewash England. England would surely become better in the next match. India should also work on their lows, like bowling the first 10 overs with ease and also prepare themselves for the death bowling. Practice of all the bowlers in the nets, so that they could able to bat longer if team collapses. England has a depth in their batting-line up and their bowlers didn’t bat well in this match. Ind vs Eng match was a thriller and Roy played exceptionally.
I had expected a lot from Sam Curran, but he couldn’t perform well today. In the starting, Bairstow played a crucial knock of 94 runs and the team looked to win the match. The collapse led them to lose a iconic game against India. India is having its time in all the formats. A lot would be expected from India in the Second T20. They are currently second in World T20s and if they win the series 3-0 then they would become the No 1 Team in the World.
Rohit Sharma didn’t play well in the first ODI as he was dismissed early. K.L. Rahul played an exceptional knock of 62 runs for the team and looked in a good touch. After winning the Test and T20I series, the Indian team began the ODI series with another outstanding performance. Having won the first encounter of the three-match series, Team India would be aware that they need to win just another game to seal the series and put some points against their name in the ICC ODI Super League.
Even after winning the first match by 66 runs, the Indian team has faced an injury situation. Vice-captain Rohit Sharma is at the risk of missing the second ODI match. He contributed 28 runs from 42 balls in the first match. During his innings though, a 148 kph ball from Mark Wood hit him on the right elbow. After being hit, the Indian opening batsman didn’t further take any part in the match. Given his injury concerns, India might be forced to make a change in their line-up. With several players sitting out, there are a number of combinations that captain Virat Kohli can choose from.
