India’s formidable batting line up was a let- down once again as they were handed a 3-0 Whitewash by the South Africa Team. Despite half centuries from https://sportyvaibhav.com/ Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan and Deepak Chahar, the team couldn’t win the match. Looking to restore some pride in this South African tour, team India made many changes in the third One-day Internationals. The management had given chances to players like Jayant Yadav and Deepak Chahar who fought till the end for the team. Virat Kohli played brilliantly with 65 runs .

Moving on to the match, South Africa batted first and Quinton de kock was magnificent with the bat as he scored a fabulous hundred with the bat for the team. India were on the top of the game in the Powerplay Overs as they managed to pick three Wickets of South Africa. De Kock and Van Der Dussen got together and formed a massive partnership for the team, mixing caution with aggression to deflate the Indian bowling attack.

Temba Bavuma, South Africa captain: It got a little crazy at the end. The complacency got to us. But in the end, we were able to bring it back. Mission accomplished for us as a team. Not many people gave us a chance in the series. We requisite been able to get a couple of more supporters through our supporters. We’re making good strides as a team, and the challenge is just to get better and better. Bowling was a big challenge for the team as it was an obstacle in our journey. The team played really well and we won the match.

In recent times India have been impressive on away tours but they haven’t had a good outing in South Africa. Team India didn’t bat that well in the all the matches at South Africa. The batsman are getting starts but they are not converting into hundreds. Apart from jasprit Bumrah, no one has been able to fire in the bowling attack. Lack of partnerships by the middle overs is a big concern for the team. I personally felt that India should gone with Deepak Chahar in all the three One-Day Internationals. It was disheartening.

K.L. Rahul India Captain:- Deepak gave us a real chance of winning the game. We’ve played well in patches, but have not held on to the pressure. We have to understand how we can get better as a one-day team. I’ve been part of the team for quite some time and something that has always stood out if the fight that we bring upon. The boys are not to be blamed. These kind of mistakes would happen and we would just have to learn from them.

Shikhar Dhawan hit two fifties against South Africa but was not able covert them into big hundreds. The fighting spirit that the team has shown is commendable and the players should now work really hard. There are many messages circulating that K.L. Rahul is a bad One-Day Captain, It is just a one series and we can’t blame him or the management for the destructive loss. De kock was exceptional for the team as he was also the Player of the Series.

What are things, India should work on:- There are many things that India should work upon after losing against South Africa in both the One-Day Internationals and Tests. The various things are as follows:-

  1. The right combination– When India handed Venkatesh Iyer the debut, it was widely assumed that he would play as an ALL- Rounder in the team. If he was not to ball then he was not the ideal choice to be picked ahead of Surya Kumar Yadav. The team should now groom bowler All-rounders like Shardul Thakur and Deepak Chahar so that they could win the game.
  2. Jadeja balancing act- In Limited Overs Cricket, Jadeja should have been the first name on the Indian team list. Jadeja brings so much to the game with his skills, but above that he allows to maintain ballance. At the moment team India is missing him, injuries and absence are part of the game.
  3. The other Rahul- Both former coach and captain were outspoken, never mincing words about how good their team was or about how the opposition played the game. Rahul Dravid would have said the things in the four walls of the dressing room. This could affect the perception of the team. Is it something the team cares about it the most.
