The 15th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 saw Royal Challengers Bangalore take on the KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on Monday, April 10. Lucknow won the toss and elected to bowl first, and that is where Bangalore looked to gain the upper hand. Ace Indian batter Virat Kohli and skipper Faf du Plessis played explosive knocks once again. Kohli amassed 61 off 44 to his name to provide Bangalore with just the start that they needed.

After Kohli’s blitzkrieg, Glenn Maxwell came to bat as despite the fall of the first wicket, the story remained the same for RCB, with Maxwell smashing the LSG bowlers for fun. He smacked six sixes and three fours in his knock of 59 off 29. Mark Wood and Amit Mishra were the only two bowlers in Lucknow’s arsenal who were able to take wickets, as they sent Glenn Maxwell and Virat Kohli back to the pavilion, respectively.

DU Plesis played a captain’s knock for RCB !!!

Skipper du Plessis was the highest run-getter for RCB, as he amassed unbeaten 79 off 46, with five fours and fice sixes to his name. The 38-year-old was influential for his side in the first innings as his knock alongside Kohli and Maxwell helped Bangalore notch up 212 runs on the board after 20 overs.

Virat was on fire today against LSG !!!

In the second innings, it could prove to be quite a challenge for the KL Rahul-led Lucknow to chase down the target. Skipper Rahul and Krunal Pandya, along with Kyle Mayers, will have all eyes set on them as they now come in to bat, keen on chasing the target. Mohammed Siraj, Wayne Parnell, and Harshal Patel will have to be at the top of their games if Bangalore are looking to register their second win of the IPL 2023. As the visitors come in to bat, the team needs 213 runs to win the game. If the Lucknow batters can play at the top of their game, the fans could be in for quite a high-scoring spectacle.

What a thriller!! No target in safe at the Chinnaswamy and RCB have felt their bowling curse come back to haunt them again. This game had everything, a vintage Virat Kohli knock in the powerplay, a 115m six from Faf, Glenn Maxwell’s return to form. And that’s just the first innings, In the chase, LSG lost their purple patch player Mayers for a duck, as Siraj cleaned him up with a superb first over. Deepak Hooda and Krunal Pandya also fell cheaply, as debutant Wayne Parnell was making merry. LSG were struggling at the end of the powerplay, and it needed some big boy power from Marcus Stoinis to get them back in the contest.

Marcus Stoinis is loving this pitch here in Chinnaswamy Stadium, Lucknow Super Giants staging a recovery now, LSG reach 91/3 after 10 overs. Stoinis 59 off 27 balls, KL Rahul batting at 17 off 18. He made his first fifty off the tournament and it would help him secure his place in the playing 11 of LSG.

He did the job for LSG !!!

The big Aussie took on Harshal Patel and Karn Sharma, scoring big sixes down the ground as he notched his first fifty of the season. Still, the game was in the balance where Stoinis was out, and then KL Rahul departed as well. But out walked 16 crore man Nicholas Pooran and showed the world why so many teams tend to break the bank for him!! He smoked seven sixes and four fours in his innings, hitting virtually anything on his pads to get the fastest fifty of this season’s IPL.

Lucknow Super Giants’ Nicholas Pooran, while playing against the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 15th game of the IPL 2023, smashed the fastest fifty of the current edition. He also entered his name in record books by smashing the second-fastest fifty in the tournament’s history, equalling Sunil Narine and Yusuf Pathan’s record. Nicholas Pooran was the star of the run-chase for LSG. It was very iconic match as the fans

Nicholas Pooran changed the core of the game for LSG !!!

RCB vs LSG: LSG beat RCB by one wicket

What drama in the final over. When LSG needed one run to win from one ball Harshal Patel tried to run out the non-striker Bishnoi who was down the crease but, missed the stumps. He then goes back and bowls the final delivery Avesh misses the ball but Bishnoi runs Dinesh Karthik behind the stumps and fumbles allowing both batters to complete the single. What a game we had. LSG takes the two points from this one.
