Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 8 wickets in their Indian Premier League (IPL) match on Saturday. Virat Kohli scored a brilliant century to help RCB chase down the target of 187 with ease. Kohli scored 100 off 62 balls, his first century of the season. He was well supported by Faf du Plessis, who made 71. The duo put on a 172-run partnership for the first wicket, which was the foundation of RCB’s win.

RCB VS SRH: Wonderful
The RCB bowlers have to bowl brilliantly ans stop leaking runs!!!

SRH were put in to bat first and they got off to a good start. Abhishek Sharma and Rahul Tripathi departed early for Hyderabad. RCB’s bowlers struck back in the middle overs and restricted SRH to 186 for 5. Henrich Klassen was phenomenal with the bat, he scored his maiden IPL hundred. In reply, RCB made short work of the target. Kohli and du Plessis took the attack to the SRH bowlers and they reached the target with 4 balls to spare.

Kohli, Player of the Match: Quite special considering the magnitude of the game. Thought SRH got a very good score. Ball was gripping as well. We wanted a good solid start. Didn’t expect to be 172/0. But that’s how well Faf and me have played this season. Faf’s been on a different level. I’ve had a quiet couple of games. The way I was hitting in the nets wasn’t transitioning into the middle in the last 2-3 matches.

Wanted to make an impact and my intent was to go after the bowlers from ball 1 – something I’ve done through the season. There was a dip but I wanted to pick my game up at the right time. Never look at past records (not great numbers against SRH). I don’t give myself enough credit sometimes because I put myself under so much stress already.

Fantastic knock from a fantastic player !!!

I don’t care what anyone says on the outside. That’s their opinion. When you’re in that situation yourself, you know how to win games of cricket. I’ve done that over a long period of time. It’s not like when I play I don’t win games for my team. It’s playing the situation that I take pride in. I’ve never been a guy who plays so many fancy shots – was having a chat with Aiden as well. We have to play 12 months of the year. With this win, RCB moved up to the fourth spot in the points table. They are now one win away from qualifying for the playoffs.

This duo has been fantastIC for RCB !!!

Here are some of the key takeaways from the match:

  • Virat Kohli’s century was a timely reminder of his class. He has been struggling for form in recent months, but he showed that he is still one of the best batsmen in the world.
  • Faf du Plessis was also in good form, scoring his 8th half-century of the season. He has been a consistent performer for RCB this season.
  • RCB’s bowlers were impressive in the second half of the innings. They restricted SRH to a below-par total and then bowled with discipline to defend it.
  • This win is a big boost for RCB’s hopes of qualifying for the playoffs. They are now one win away from securing a spot in the top four.

Here are some of the talking points from the match:

  • Can RCB continue their winning momentum and qualify for the playoffs?
  • Will Virat Kohli be able to maintain his form and lead RCB to victory in the upcoming matches?
  • Will Faf du Plessis continue to be a consistent performer for RCB?
  • Can RCB’s bowlers maintain their discipline and help the team win more matches?

These are some of the questions that will be answered in the coming weeks. RCB have a tough schedule ahead of them, but they have the talent to win matches and qualify for the playoffs.
